Canada Work Permits
Most foreign nationals need a work permit to be employed in Canada. There are two main types: employer-specific work permits, which restrict you to a particular employer, and open work permits, which allow you to work for any eligible employer in Canada. You can apply for a work permit either from outside or within Canada, with varying eligibility requirements for each situation. If you apply from outside Canada, you will receive a port of entry letter of introduction. Upon arrival and verification of this letter, your work permit will be issued at the port of entry.
