Canada Super Visa (SV)
The Super Visa enables parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents to stay in Canada for an initial period of up to 5 years. After this initial period, they may extend their stay for an additional 2 years if needed.
- Benefits: Allows parents and grandparents to stay in Canada for up to 5 years at a stretch without having to renew their status, unlike the regular 6-month duration of a visitor visa.
- Validity:The Super Visa is multi-entry and can be issued for a period of ten years, facilitating multiple visits to Canada within this timeframe.
Eligibility to sponsor under Super Visa:
- Qualification: You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- Required Documents:
- Provide a written commitment of financial support for the applicants.
- Submit a letter of invitation.
- Details of your living arrangements and how you plan to support your family during their stay in Canada.
- Financial Proof: Demonstrate that you meet the minimum income threshold based on the size of your family household as per the low-income cut-off (LICO).
Requirements for Super Visa applicants:
- All applicants for the Super Visa must fulfill certain mandatory requirements along with other assessment factors:
- Medical Examination (mandatory): Undergo a medical examination as part of the application process.
- Canadian Medical Insurance: Purchase Canadian medical insurance providing a minimum coverage of $100,000 for health care, hospitalization, and repatriation for at least one year from the date of entry.
- Admissibility: Demonstrate admissibility to Canada, including intentions to visit, ties to their home country, and the overall stability of their home country.
