Who is eligible for the Federal Skilled Worker Program?

The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) is designed for skilled workers who have the education, work experience, and language abilities needed to contribute to the Canadian economy. To be eligible, candidates must meet several criteria:

Work Experience: At least one year of continuous full-time or equivalent paid work experience in a skilled occupation within the last ten years.
FaLanguage Proficiency: Proficiency in English or French, demonstrated through a standardized language test.
Education: A certificate, diploma, or degree from a secondary or post-secondary institution. Foreign credentials need to be assessed for equivalency to Canadian standards.
Proof of Funds: Sufficient funds to support themselves and their family after arriving in Canada.
Other Criteria: Candidates are also assessed based on age, arranged employment in Canada, and adaptability (such as previous work or study experience in Canada or a relative in Canada).

Eligible candidates must score a minimum of 67 points out of 100 on the FSWP points grid, which evaluates factors like education, language skills, work experience, age, arranged employment, and adaptability.
